PRESENT DAY 82: October Surprise 2024: Trump, Putin, Netanyahu
The great Ronald Reagan cheated in the 1980 election. We tend to forget that just as we tend to forget that his vice president, George H.W. Bush, had been the Director of the CIA under Warren Commission president Gerald Ford. We forget that H.W. lied about his long history as a CIA operative when Ford appointed him Director of the CIA. H.W. at the time said that he had never been in the CIA but the CIA had had its sights set on the White House since its inception at the end of WWII and finally achieved that goal in the persons of H.W. and Reagan. They were back after an eight year hiatus in the persons of W. and Dick Chaney, which led to another CIA lie about weapons of mass destructions in Iraq and a couple of decades long Vietnam-like wars. But the infiltration of the CIA into the White House began with Reagan / H.W. In fact, we might describe the entire Reagan administration as a CIA operation. It began with the Iranian October Surprise and ended with an illegal drug and gun running operation involving Iran and Panama alongside an illegal war in Nicaragua, crimes so flagrant that several of H.W.’s henchmen went to prison (Oliver North, et al) and H.W. himself may have met the same fate had William Barr not stepped in to advise H.W. to simply pardon everyone who was giving evidence against him, effectively ending the investigation into that illegal war. That was, of course, the same William Barr that showed up to save Trump from going down for colluding with the enemy in the 2016 election and then obstructing justice in the Mueller investigation of that treason. But let’s go back to that original October surprise. It wasn’t Jimmy Carter’s failed attempt to rescue the hostages that had been taken at the time of the Islamic revolution in Iran during the summer of 1979, the one that ousted the American backed Shah and installed a corrupt regime of religious fanatics who are still in power to this day. By the fall of 1980 with the presidential election in full swing those hostages had been held captive by Iran for over a year. Carter okayed a covert rescue attempt that failed and is said to have doomed his chances of winning the election. The real October surprise that year, however, wasn’t the Carter move but the Reagan maneuver. In order to win the election, Reagan held secret negotiations with the Ayatollah Khomeini. Reagan made a deal with Khomeini in which the United States agreed to back Iran in a war against neighboring Iraq in exchange for help in the election. Khomeini agreed to hold onto the hostages until the election was over because Carter’s inability to find a solution to that hostage situation was crippling his re-election campaign. Reagan went on to win that election and Khomeini, as promised, released the American hostages the very next day. The Reagan / H.W. administration then went on to stab Khomeini in the back by supporting Saddam Hussein in the ensuing eight year war that cost both Iraq and Iran hundreds of thousands of casualties as well as hundreds of millions of dollars that neither country could afford to throw away, especially in such a futile enterprise. H.W., as CIA liaison in the White House, was directly involved in this illegal and treasonous operation to use a foreign adversary for political gain in an American election. Trump, of course, did the same with Putin in 2016. Reagan’s treasonous October surprise cost Jimmy Carter the election. It was going to cost Nicaragua, second poorest country in the hemisphere, a large percentage of its male population, who were enlisted by the Sandinistas to fight a decade long war against the most powerful country on Earth, us. Jump to the present. Today Donald Trump is having secret and illegal talks with both Benjamin Netanyahu and Vladimir Putin. History is, in fact, repeating itself. Putin desperately wants Trump back in the White House because Trump will end U.S. support for Ukraine, allowing Putin to walk in and occupy the entire country. As part of this deal Trump will also pull the United States out of NATO, leaving Europe wide open for Putin to invade, destroy and occupy at will. Trump has said as much publicly, inviting Putin to do “whatever the hell he wants” to NATO countries. At the same time Netanyahu desperately wants Trump back in the White House because he knows that Trump will give him carte blanche to run roughshod not merely over Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank but over any Arabs he feels are in his Zionist way as well as the Persians. Trump doesn’t know the difference, of course, between an Arab and a Persian. Netanyahu has been drooling over such an attack on Iran for decades and therein lies the October surprise 2024. An Israeli strike inside Iran now will be a declaration of war in the Middle East and it will be war between Iran and the United States. We’ve vowed to side with Israel no matter what atrocities they commit and we’ve proved that we are as good as our word as Israel has murdered more than 16,000 children in Gaza alone over the past year. 16,000 children. And they’ve done it with American weapons and bombs. They could not have done it without our support. So what are Trump, Putin and Netanyahu discussing in these private and illegal phone calls? I’d say nothing could be more obvious. As a former president Trump has a legal obligation to share these conversations or any such diplomatic interactions he has with foreign powers and especially adversaries with the Biden administration. But then Trump talked privately with Putin even while president and there is no doubt that those discussion were not in the interest of the United States. Trump is losing this election. He knows it. Harris knows it. We know it. Putin and Netanyahu know it and are in a position to do something about it. Trump should have been taken into custody by now for yet another betrayal of the U.S.A. Instead, he is free to commit treason at will for his own, Putin’s and Netanyahu’s political interests. Yes, these sociopaths are willing to wage war for personal gain. Don’t doubt it. Trump is that depraved. He’s not just a disgrace to America. He’s a threat to our national security and he’s doing it without the slightest worry that he will be held accountable for it. That’s partly on us. It’s partly on Biden and Merrick Garland’s justice department. But primarily it’s on the evil doer himself, Trump, someone who is incapable of shame, guilt, regret or remorse. Trump, however, is on parole for his criminal convictions in New York. It’s time for his parole office to step forward. If the DOJ isn’t going to do anything, maybe treason would be considered a violation of his parole. If Trump has to get permission from his parole office to leave the state, shouldn’t he also need permission to commit treason? I say this only half in jest. It’s not what should happen but maybe it’s something. To this point our justice system has failed us. If this second October surprise succeeds in re-installing Trump in the White House, it may well have been a mortal failure for American democracy.
